Stabbing Victim in Hospital, Manhunt Continues for suspect

Police are still reporting no sign of Claude Legaré.
He's wanted in connection with the stabbing of two people Friday afternoon in front of a Strandherd Drive pharmacy.
47-year-old Brenda Van Leyen remains in hospital with serious stab wounds. Although police have not officially released names, The Citizen quotes a family member as saying Ms. Van Leyen is not doing well.
In addition, a 21-year-old Shoppers Drug Mart employee who tried to intervene has been released from hospital, after treatment for minor injuries.
Police are not publicly discussing potential motives, but relatives of the injured Canada Post worker suggest the bloody incident is linked to a failed relationship.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Legaré.
Charges include assault with a weapon, attempted kidnapping and attempted murder.
Legaré is described as white, standing 5' 7", with a heavier frame, and a scruffy beard.
He was last seen wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt, a dark baseball hat, light grey track pants and dark winter shoes.
Legaré was on bail due on previous criminal charges laid by the OPP's Kemptville detachment.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is also probing the Barrhaven case.
Around 3:45 p.m., a responding cruiser struck and injured a pedestrian.
That 43-year-old man was also seriously injured. but SIU detectives have offered no comment on their case.
