An Ottawa City Councillor wants to top up the funding in the Toilet Rebate Program to allow it to run until the end of the year.
Peter Hume's motion for the Planning and Environment Committee says approved funding for the program ran out in October, and there are a "considerable number of applications" that have been submitted.
The toilet replacement program offers homeowners a cash incentive to replace their old toilet with a City-approved water-efficient toilet
Hume's motion calls for $260-thousand from the Water Efficiency Program account to cover the program until the end of the year.
