OC Transpo says more buses were running on time in the final three months of 2009.
The Quarterly Performance Report for City Council shows 58.1 per cent of buses were running on-time in the October to December period, an 8.4 per cent improvement from the July to September period.
OC Transpo's standard for "on-time" service is not running early at all and no more than five minutes late.
The statistics show the number of OC Transpo buses running early decreased by 20 per cent in the final quarter, noting early buses expose customers to missing their bus or transfer.
Staff say continuous adjustments to the new standard and the outcome of a comprehensive review of scheduling practices should see on-time performance increase toward the target of 90 per cent.
