    Sens acquire Phaneuf

    In a shocker, the Ottawa Senators have acquired defenceman Dion Phaneuf from the Toronto Maple Leafs in a nine-player trade. Ottawa also acquired defenceman Cody Donaghey and forwards Matt Frattin, Casey Bailey and Ryan Rupert. The Maple Leafs get defenceman Jared Cowen and forwards Milan Michalek, Colin Greening and Tobias Lindberg, along with a 2017 second-round draft pick. Phaneuf, the biggest name in the deal, has 24 points and 67 penalty minutes in 51 games this season. He will wear number two for Ottawa.

    Homicide "person of interest"

    Gatineau Police have released a sketch of a "person of interest" in the case of a 25-year-old Ottawa woman who was killed at a Gatineau hotel last fall. Christine MacNeil was shot at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on Laurier Street in Gatineau on Oct. 19, 2015. Police say the want to speak with a man in connection to the murder because he may have "key information that would help the investigation." Read More
