The Canadian construction season is set to begin in southern Afghanistan.
The Canadian Military says as the summer "fighting season" comes to an end, several Canadian development projects can get underway.
Projects include a market for farmers in the Zhari district west of Kandahar City.
Lt. Mathieu Proulx told the Canadian Press that "because it's fighting season, we can't concentrate on the development side" in the Zhari district.
The Manley report recommended a greater emphasis be put on reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan.
