Ombudsman Calls for Ontario to Learn From Mistakes

Ontario’s Ombudsman suggests the province’s own agencies can become monsters wreaking havoc on government.
Andre Marin says while agencies, boards and commissions may seem “tame and dull”, they begin “life just as Frankenstein’s monster did, as a volatile combination of parts that don’t always work together, sometimes if governments aren’t careful their creations can rise up and wreck untold havoc.”
Marin says in the wake of the scandal at eHealth Ontario, the province must take a more holistic, proactive approach and learn from mistakes.
The Liberal Government has ordered a review to root out spending abuses at government agencies.
