Orlando Shooting Suspect 'Mentally Ill': Attorney
Jason McIntyre
Saturday, November 7, 2009
Jason Rodriguez's lawyer says the alleged Orlando gunman is 'very, very mentally ill.'
Public defender Bob Wesley adds that 'it looks like a classic case of stress overload.'
The 40-year-old suspect briefly appeared in court Saturday.
Rodriguez's only statements were an acknowledgement of a routine oath and his name.
He's accused of fatally wounding a man and injuring five other former work colleagues Thursday inside a downtown office tower.
The Legion Place survivors are in stable condition at Orlando hospitals.
Bail was denied for the former engineer, who is being held at an Orange County jail.
