The Prime Minister’s Quebec lieutenant suggests the Conservative Party’s surprising victory in Monday’s byelection is a sign that “our party has traction in Quebec.”
Public Works Minister Christian Paradis says Monday’s upset win in the former Bloc Quebecois stronghold in Montmagny-L’Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere du Loup brings the dream of winning a majority by making inroads in Quebec closer to a reality.
The Tories also won a byelection in Nova Scotia on Monday.
The Liberals were a distant third in all four Federal byelections.
