Canada’s chief public health officer says only 36 of the 6.5 million Canadians who have received the H1N1 flu shot have suffered serious adverse reactions.
Dr. David Butler-Jones says few Canadians have suffered serious side effects since the H1N1 flu shot campaign began last month.
“With any vaccination campaign, we expect to see some cases of serious adverse events,” Butler-Jones said Tuesday. “They are very rare.”
He does say one person is believed to have died from a serious reaction from the vaccine.
