CN Rail’s locomotive engineers are heading back to work after the Canadian National Railway and the Teamsters union reached a deal.
The two sides have reached an agreement to end the five-day old strike by the 17-hundred engineers.
Under the terms of the agreement, CN and the Teamsters union have agreed to continue negotiations to resolve issues related to wages, benefits and work rules. If there is no agreement, the issues would be sent to binding arbitration.
The deal came two days after the Federal Government introduced back to work legislation to end the strike.
