Representatives of a militant group with ties to the Taliban have delivered a peace plan to the capital of Afghanistan.
The chief spokesman for Hizb-i-Islami says a five-member delegation was in Kabul to meet with government officials. They also plan to meet Taliban leaders in southern Afghanistan.
The group has longtime ties to al-Qaida.
The Afghan Government and others from the international community have had secret contacts with the Taliban or their representatives to discuss reconciling with insurgents.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai will host a “peace jirga” in April or early May.
Hizb-i-Islami has a 15-point plan that calls for foreign forces to start pulling out of Afghanistan in July.
