Public Health Receiving H1N1 Doses for Pregnant Women

Ottawa Public Health hopes to begin administering the non-adjevunted H1N1 vaccine to pregnant women as early as Thursday.

The city expected to receive a shipment of 5-thousand doses of the unadjevunted vaccine Tuesday night.

The City of Ottawa continues to run clinics for the the high-risk, priority groups wanting the shot at the city-run H1N1 clinics.

Public Health estimates 100-thousand people will have received the vaccine in Ottawa by the end of the day Wednesday.

An estimated 75-hundred people received the H1N1 flu shot at Ottawa clinics on Tuesday.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Isra Levy admits he is concerned about a dwindling supply of the vaccine this week because of a slowdown in production. But Levy says "within the next six to eight weeks" there should be enough supply for all Canadians.
