Sens, DIFD teaming up to raise money, awareness for mental health

It's Hockey Talks Night at Canadian Tire Centre.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Ottawa Senators are teaming up with Do It For Daron (DIFD) in hopes of raising awareness and money to help the one in five Ontarians under the age of 17 suffering from a mental health disorder.

Brad Weir with the Sens Foundation tells CFRA it's a big night for them.

"We're playing the Tampa Bay Lightning, so fans coming to the game can expect to get some DIFD merchandise, so the players' wives will be selling that," he says. "We will encourage people to text to donate, so people can text 'DIFD' to 45678 to make a $5 donation."

Those attending the game will get a Bell Hockey Talks Youth Mental Health pamphlet and a donation envelope, which can be submitted at the arena or mailed to the Sens Foundation.
