There's more upcoming construction along Rideau Street.
Starting on Monday, the eastbound transit/taxi-only lane between Sussex and William will be closed for several years for the Rideau Centre expansion project.
Rideau-Vanier Ward councillor Mathieu Fleury told CFRA you can expect more congestion in the area, but that doesn't mean the bus will actually be stopping for passengers in the driving lane.
"The bus platform will remain open to allow buses to come in and out and make sure that we can maintain our OC Transpo times," said Fleury. "The only thing is that the bus (shelters) will be changing location along the street as the facade improves."
Taxis will not be allowed to park in the bus zone on the south side of the street.
Fleury said the city will be monitoring traffic to see how it is flowing and whether they can make any improvements while construction continues.
