You'll soon be able to surf the web for free at certain city buildings.
The city will announce a deal on Friday morning to bring free Wi-Fi to 25 municipal facilities.
According to a news release, Mayor Jim Watson and other councillors will be joined by "a representative of an Ottawa wireless internet company."
Last spring, the city put out a request for bids for the project on a sponsorship basis that would see the winning company get free advertising and, in return, almost all of the costs associated with the Wi-Fi would be covered.
As outlined in a request for bids issued last spring, community groups and rec centres would likely be the first recipients.
