A man was rushed to hospital in serious condition after reportedly crossing the highway line and crashing into a transport truck.
It happened around 10:30p.m. Wednesday on Highway 17 near Renfrew.
The male driver of the car was rushed by Ornge air ambulance with serious injuries to the Ottawa Hospital. The female passenger is in more stable condition at the hospital. Both had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.
The driver of the transport was shaken up but not injured. OPP say the transport truck is still in a ditch now and it will be removed sometime Thursday morning.
Police say the car crossed the line for unknown reasons and Renfrew OPP is investigating.
All lanes of Highway 17 were closed for almost four hours - from 10:30p.m.-2a.m. - from Anderson Road and Miller Road to Gillian Road and Lochwinnoch Road.
