Gatineau issues preventative boil water advisory for 12K residents

The City of Gatineau has issued a preventative boil water advisory for residents in the Limbour and Touraine as crews continue work to repair a water main break on Saint Louis Street.

The advisory affects around 12,000 residents living north of Gatineau Avenue to the Cantley limits.

It includes the trailer park, but does NOT include Nantel, Tellier, Lusignan, Colbert and Lonoir streets, as well as Saint-Louis Street between number 1895 and 2187.

The city is asking all residents under the advisory to boil their water for at least one minute before drinking it.

The advisory is in place until it is lifted by the city.

The main broke on Saint-Louis in between Monte-Carlo and La Verendrye.

Traffic is currently being detoured using Cartier.
