Ottawa raises Pride Flag in time for Winter Games

As the world prepares for the Winter Games in Sochi, Canadian cities are taking a stand against Russia's laws banning pro-gay propaganda.

The Pride Flag is flying at Ottawa City Hall and Mayor Jim Watson sent out a tweet of the Rainbow Flag Thursday night, saying it will fly until the end of the games.

Montreal, Vancouver and St. John's, Newfoundland are among the other cities to fly the gay pride flag to show solidarity with Russia's gay and lesbian communities.

The flag will also be flown at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, the site of the 1976 summer games.
