Pine view Municipal Golf Course is close to cutting its ties with the city.
According to a memo sent to councillors late Monday afternoon, the NCC is in the final stage of a deal that would bring in a third party to operate the facility.
After posting six figure losses for multiple years, councillors agreed to an open bidding competition to find new operators.
The site needs repairs, including to its roof and HVAC system, and that could cost taxpayers upwards of $1 million. But General Manager of Parks and Recreation Dan Chenier wrote that money will eventually be saved by handing the operations over to a private company.
Some employees could be out of a job, though the winning bidder has indicated there will be efforts made to maintain the current staff where possible.
