It was an eventful shift Saturday for an OPP officer from the Sharbot Lake Detachment.
Police say 10-year veteran Cst. Lori Lobinowich had been on duty for less than an hour when she was told that a pregnant woman was about to give birth in the detachment parking lot.
They were 30 minutes away from the nearest hospital.
Lobinowich ran outside and helped deliver the baby in the cold; she then took the woman and her newborn inside until an ambulance arrived.
Mother and daughter are said to be doing well.
