Local preschooler named semi-finalist in Google Doodle contest

A young Ottawa girl's drawing could be featured as a Google Doodle.

Annika Hollo from Riverside Montessori Preschool has made the Doodle 4 Google semi-finals.

Google asked Canadian students from kindergarten through Grade 12 to give their logo a new look and has since received thousands of submissions.

The winning doodle will be announced Feb. 25 and will be featured for a day on Google Canada's homepage.

The doodle will also be part of an exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum in March.

The national winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship and a $10,000 grant to their school.
