Tuesday's fire in North Gower has left a family of eight with nothing after everything they owned was destroyed in the massive blaze that caused $400,000 in damages.
Now, the community is stepping up to help them start over.
Jon Driscoll is the sole provider for his wife and six children and he cannot walk because of the severe frostbite he suffered in the fire.
His brother-in-law Clint Gilbert explains some people have already stepped up with immediate help for the family.
"They're in a small house. It's basically donated by a family member. The church has helped them out with a van to try and support the kids wherever they may need to go," he said, but added there is a lot they still need.
"Everything to start over," he said.
The family needs clothing, toys, food and necessities for the 5 girls and 1 boy who range in age from four to 11.
The trust funds set up for the family are at The Royal Bank in North Gower and at the Bank of Montreal in Bells Corners, transit number 2312 account number 3991 221.
Donations can also be brought to 2695 Thomas A Dolan Pkwy in Carp to either the TAG Hair Studio or to Rescue Auto Detail.
The family said they will be very grateful for any help that people can provide them at this difficult time.
