No charges laid in Smyth Road pedestrian collision

Ottawa police say no charges will be laid in connection with a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle in front of the Franco Cité School on Smyth Road last month.

The 16-year-old boy was crossing the road in front of the school Jan. 20 when he was hit; the teen suffered serious injuries.

Investigators say speed was not a factor in the collision.

The boy has been released from hospital, but police say he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
