Traffic lights restored near site of road collapse

The City of Ottawa says the road collapse on Waller near Laurier has been fixed and power has been restored to the traffic lights.

Water service to 50 Laurier East has also been restored, following an incident on Friday that saw a portion of the road collapse near the entrance of the East Portal of the LRT construction.

Permanent repairs to affected storm and sanitary sewers is planned for this week.

Tunnelling operations for the LRT project's Confederation Line, however, remain suspended for the time being as the investigation into the collapse continues.
