The Ottawa Police Service is taking two small recommendations from a provincial review as a sign they're doing their job well in the missing persons unit.
The ministry asked them to change one word in their policy and asked them to continue to review whether they have adequate staff for the unit.
Inspector Ian Kingham says they passed the review and the recommendations are mere good practices.
"We're talking about very minor wordsmithing issues here, from "immediately" to "as soon as practicable." That's very minor. We got a very good result and we're very proud of that," said Kingham.
The whole police service is under an internal review into how they deliver services and run investigations to make sure they're running as effectively as possible.
That review could take another two years.
