No jobs lost in Winchester Hospital reshuffle

Hospital brass insist changes made at the Winchester Hospital will not affect patient care.

Hospital CEO Cholly Boland tells CFRA they've done some reshuffling to eliminate positions that were no longer needed. Boland said the hospital foresaw budget constraints nearly a year ago and spent five months putting together a plan to allow the hospital to continue operating as they always have.

"Whether it's tomorrow or next week, it doesn't represent a change because it's the way we've been operating for the past year - it's just we've made permanent those staff vacancies."

Boland says no jobs were actually cut and patient care remains the same.

Many beds in the hospital have been empty for a year, a trend Boland attributes to support from the Champlain LHIN and the community.
