Ottawa Police are looking to bring more women into the force. They hosted an all-women's recruitment night at Ben Franklin Place Monday night.
Staff Sergeant Debbie Miller said, "we're getting the women that are interested in policing...we get it from the information session, we also get it from the Universities as well. So, all around we have women coming, looking to join the Ottawa Police."
Miller says it's important to have meetings just for women as they have specific questions and concerns about careers in policing.
"This female may have questions about parenting. She's got a family, how is that in relation to becoming a police officer - is it possible? They get to meet other women that can tell them what their experiences are as a police officer."
She says the service regularly has all-female information sessions and they're usually very successful.
