Strike Threat Hangs over Carleton University

Campus safety workers, teaching assistants and contract instructors at Carleton University are threatening to walk off the job Monday morning.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union has set a March 10th deadline to reach a new deal for 50 special constables, dispatchers and campus security officers.

That's the same strike deadline set by Teaching Assistants and Sessional Lecturers under a different union at Carleton.

Both unions say their members earn far less money than their counterparts at other universities.

Contract talks are scheduled to resume Friday.
