Fallowfield railway crossing signals back to normal after malfunction

Railway crossing signals are back to normal on Fallowfield Road after multiple malfunctions Tuesday.

Signals weren't working properly near the Barrhaven rail crossing where six people were killed in the OC Transpo bus and VIA Rail crash last fall.

The signals began malfunctioning around 4 a.m. then again through the evening. Ottawa Police say they were fixed around 10:45 p.m. Police stayed on site until 11 p.m. to make sure the last train passed safely.

The lights were flashing and warning of a train, even though the track was clear.
