Police to run school zone blitz Wednesday

CFRA News staff

Ottawa Police are running another school zone enforcement blitz tomorrow in the east end.

They say with March break now over drivers need a reminder to keep their eyes out for students heading to and from school, both on foot and by bus.

They'll be stopping drivers for speeding, failing to stop and yeild for pedestrians, failing to obey crossing guards and school bus signs, and using handheld electronic devices.

Last year there were 113 collisions in school zones in the East Division during school hours on weekdays.
