Thunder Bay Police say several members of the University of Ottawa Gee Gees men's hockey team would not speak with them last week.
Investigators from Thunder Bay Police and RCMP in the northern city were in Ottawa to interview members of the team and its coaching staff in connection to a sexual assault, which is alleged to have taken place over the February 1st weekend.
That's when the Gee Gees were in town to play the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
"Unfortunately, a number of players chose not to speak to police," said Thunder Bay Police in a news release.
A majority of players, however, agreed to the interviews, which took place at the Elgin Street police headquarters.
Thunder Bay Police are thanking Ottawa Police and the university for their cooperation in the case.
They say they will only provide further updates to this case when it is "appropriate to do so."
