Supporters for a safe injection site in Ottawa will take their message to Parliament Hill today.
The Campaign for Safer Consumption Sites Ottawa says it will hold a rally at 1 p.m. to demonstrate the growing demand for a supervised injection facility in Ottawa.
The campaign says supervised injection sites are a medical intervention proven to reduce public drug use and avert the spread of infectious diseases.
It claims at least two people die a month in Ottawa due to drug overdoses.
Last fall, the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre said it was preparing an application for a supervised injection site for Ottawa.
