Janitors at federal buildings threaten strike

The men and women who clean the federal government buildings in Ottawa may walk off the job.

Cleaners employed by Evripos Janitorial Ltd. say they're ready to strike if negotiations fail to improve their working conditions at various buildings, including those at Tunney's Pasture and on Booth Street.

Workers are also expressing the need for a higher wage and benefits to help them make ends meet.

Their contract is set to expire next month.
