Local craft beer company beats Kickstarter fundraising goal

Local craft beer makers are thanking the community for their support, helping them raise more than $15,000 before the end of their Kickstarter campaign.

One Dominion City Brewing Co. co-founder said he sees the response as a reflection of the enthusiasm in this city for the resurgence of craft beer.

"We're really overwhelmed, actually, really thrilled that over 215 people felt that they were excited enough about this to contribute the money, so we were really happy about that," said Alex Monk.

He said it's a testament to the passion people have for craft beer here in the capital and to the quality of the rewards they're offering.

There are 12 days left to take part in the fundraising campaign.

It will help the company design and build a tasting bar and bottle room at the front of the brewery which will be located on Canotek Road and is slated to open in July.
