Alcohol may be Contributing Factor in Crash north of Gatineau

A 55 year old man may be facing impaired driving charges after a single vehicle crash in Val-des-Monts north of Gatineau.

MRC des Collines Police say a 2006 Ford Focus heading south went completely across the oncoming lanes of Route du Carrefour near the intersection of Montée Paiement, and crashed into a hydro pole after hitting a recycling bin and snowbank.

Police say when the accident happened just after four o'clock Sunday afternoon, the road was wet, but clear.

The driver had to be taken to hospital for injuries, and a blood/alcohol test, as responding officers say the driver seemed to be impaired.
