Closing arguments will be heard Tuesday at the inquest into the death of Eric Leighton.
The 18-year-old was killed in a shop class explosion at Mother Teresa High School on May 26, 2011.
His death prompted safety changes at all Ontario schools and within the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
The coroner's inquest has heard from safety experts, the former principal, Leighton's shop class teacher and the classmate assigned to work on the BBQ project with him.
Leighton was cutting into a used oil drum with a grinder to convert it into a BBQ when the drum exploded.
