It's not yet known when the province will be able to start operating the changeable message sign installed last summer on the 417 westbound near Parkdale.
That's because it's up to the City of Ottawa to set the date for when the sign can be turned on. City construction crews are handling the installation and they haven't made the activation date public.
Ontario's transportation ministry says there are current plans for another four changeable signs to be installed on the 417.
They'll be installed in the following places: eastbound just west of the Vanier Parkway Bridge; westbound between St. Laurent and Belfast; westbound between Walkley and Innes; and Westbound east of Blair.
There will also be improvements made to the province's traffic monitoring camera system at the same time as the signs are installed.
