A verdict is due at 11 this morning in the inquest into the death of Eric Leighton, the 18-year-old who was killed in May 2011 in a shop class explosion at Mother Teresa High School.
The five-member jury at the coroner's inquest must rule whether the death was an accident. That happens when the death could not have been foreseen and there was no intent.
The jury also has an opportunity to make recommendations to prevent future similar deaths.
Leighton's parents have attended nearly every day of the inquest and hope today's ruling will allow them to move on and grieve for their son properly.
