Ottawa and the surrounding region might be in for some turbulent weather and a good soaking.
Environment Canada extended its special weather statement Sunday to cover Gatineau, Prescott and Russell, Smiths Falls, Perth, Eastern Lanark County and all of Ottawa North and South.
On Saturday, the weather agency only had the statement out for Petawawa, Pembroke, Cobden, Renfrew, Arnprior and Calabogie.
The weather agency says a Texas-low moving in from the southern U.S. could bring adverse weather to the region and residents will need to take safety precautions. The system is developing over New Mexico.
Although the system is still very unpredictable, Environment Canada says it could bring 15-25mm of rain for Southern and Eastern Ontario on Monday night into Tuesday. Some areas around Georgian Bay could be in for 5-10cm of snow.
In good news, the warm weather is expected to make a comeback later in the week.
