Bhupinderpal Gill, 38, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Jagtar Gill, 43.
He is the second person to be charged in the slaying that remains Ottawa's only homicide of the year.
Gurpreet Ronald, 34, was charged last Wednesday and remains in police custody.
Gill has been told not to communicate with a long list of people including much of the Gill and Ronald families.
Bhupinderpal Gill and Gurpreet Ronald are both set to appear in court by video on Wednesday afternoon. It is likely the Crown will seek to have them listed as co-accused and proceed with a single trial.
Jagtar Gill was found stabbed to death in her Barrhaven home in January on the couple's 17th wedding anniversary. Her body was discovered by Bhupinderpal and their 15-year-old daughter.
Her death and these arrests have shocked the tight-knit Sikh community in Ottawa.
They say they are concerned for the three Gill children and Gurpreet Ronald's two daughters who many among the community fear will be scarred by these events.
