A drunk driver who killed a 27-year-old woman after driving the wrong direction down a one-way Byward Market street has been sentenced to four years in jail.

28-year-old Maxime Morin Leblanc made a wrong turn onto St. Patrick Street on October 14th, 2011.

He swerved to avoid an oncoming car at St. Patrick and Cumberland, and struck Alexandra Dodger who was walking home.

Morin Leblanc was convicted last November of impaired driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death and refusing to provide a breath sample.

He's banned from driving for 10 years.
