The two people charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jagtar Gill have been named as co-accused in the case.
That means their case will proceed as one trial, rather than two, though both accused will maintain separate legal representation.
The Crown entered the information to support charging them jointly in court Wednesday.
Gurpreet Ronald, 34, and Bhupinderpal Gill, 38, both appeared before a judge by video.
They're due to appear again by video Friday, April 25.
Their lawyers say dates won't be set for bail hearings until the Crown has given them disclosure of the facts in the case.
Both Bruce Engel, representing Ronald, and Rob McGowan, representing Gill said they were confident their clients had strong eligibility for bail.
One other change was made Wednesday. Ronald is now allowed to speak to her husband, Jason Ronald, who had previously been listed among several people with whom she's not allowed to communicate.
