Hydro price hike just before summer means higher bills to cool homes

The bitter cold had Ottawa residents paying more to heat their homes this winter and now, a hydro rate increase will have bills on the rise for people cooling their homes this summer.

Hydro rates are hiking 2.4 per cent as of May 1st.

That means the typical household will pay almost $3 more per month for electricity. Peak rates will jump the most, by 0.6 cents.

This is killing us. I know what is wrong with the Liberal party, but what I do not understand is what is wrong with the PC Party. Why isn't Tim Hudak campaigning on lowering utility rates?
