An Ottawa judge has ruled two men facing terrorist conspiracy charges will now be tried separately.
Hiva Alizadeh and Misbahuddin Ahmed were supposed to be tried together this month, but Matt Webber, one of the defense lawyers in the case, has been appointed as a judge.
So now, Ahmed's jury trial will begin in May, while Alizadeh's trial has been pushed back to February 2015, because of Webber's new appointment.
Both men were arrested in 2010, after being under surveillance by RCMP for months.
They are pleading not guilty to terrorism conspiracy charges.
