The Jewish Federation of Ottawa says the City of Ottawa's response to anti-Semitic and racist graffiti confirms Ottawa remains a "model of pluralism, social harmony, and good will."
Ottawa Police continue to investigate after the graffiti was discovered on the Champlain Bridge Saturday morning.
One message was a racist remark targeting Ottawa's black community, and the second promoted anti-Semitism.
In a statement, Federation president Andrea Freedman commended the swift response by the City of Ottawa to quickly cover-up the hateful graffiti.
Freedman says anyone with information on those responsible for the crime should contact police.
Ottawa Police are investigating the graffiti as potential hate crimes.
