Algonquin to purchase cutting edge equipment with funding

Algonquin College has received over $360,000 in funding for cutting edge research equipment.

The money, which comes from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada's College and Innovation Program will see the college create a user experience research lab.

The lab will allow students to conduct detailed testing of tablets, computers, smartphones and interactive multimedia user interfaces.

The College will also use the money to buy a survey-grade 3D laser scanner that can be used to create models of buildings, structures and other spaces, a digital microscope and upgrade the College's Optophotonics Lab.
