Gatineau Police say preliminary autopsy results indicate that 42-year-old Angela Distasio was killed with a sharp object.
Police found Distasio suffering from serious injuries in her rue Symmes apartment in Aylmer Sunday. She was pronounced dead in hospital early Monday morning.
Police say they have completed their search of a second crime scene in Quyon. Investigators are still, however, gathering evidence in the Aylmer apartment.
Distasio's ex-husband Alain Gascon, 49, has been charged with first-degree murder in her death.
The couple, which had five children together had recently parted ways.
Gascon is scheduled to make his next court appearance May 1st and has been ordered not to speak to his children.
They will be called as prosecution witnesses.
