Ottawa real estate agent accused of trying to kill wife denied bail

A justice has formally ruled that Ottawa real estate agent Chris Hoare will not be released on bail.

Hoare is charged with the attempted murder of his wife in Orleans April 2.

Police say she was assaulted and someone tried to suffocate her.

Hoare has been ordered not to communicate with his wife, except through legal counsel, or with two other Crown witnesses.

He can only communicate with his five children under direct supervision of the Children's Aid Society.

Hoare will be back before a judge April 29.
