Sens break ground on Bayshore community rink

The Ottawa Senators have broken ground on the new community rink scheduled for Bayshore Park.

The rink will provide access to recreational programs and activities for kids in the area.

The project will see crews install hockey dasher boards, fencing and hockey nets in the winter and basketball and lacrosse nets in the summer.

The Senators have committed to building 20 community rinks in Ottawa, Gatineau and the Valley; the Bayshore rink will be the third one, following the Rink of Dreams at City Hall and the one at Jules Morin Park.
