Gill trial put off until May 13

The two people co-accused of first-degree murder in the death of Jagtar Gill could wait two months or more for bail hearings to begin.

The Barrhaven mother's husband, Bhupinderpal Gill, and neighbour, Gurpreet Ronald, are both due back before a judge by video May 13.

Lawyers for both Ronald and Gill are still waiting for disclosure of the facts of the case from the Crown.

Gill has appointed a new lawyer to manage his case; James Harbic says he will seek bail for his client, but he can't comment on whether he thinks Gill will be released.

Jagtar Gill's family and friends were in court for the brief appearances, as they have been throughout the rest of the court process so far.

They vow to be at every hearing to honour the 43-year-old mother of three killed in her Brambling Way home Jan. 29.
